Thank you for helping students Reach Higher!

First and foremost, a heartfelt THANK YOU. Our annual Reach Higher Luncheon on March 21 was a powerful reminder of the transformative power of education. We wouldn't be able to Reach Higher without your generosity and belief in our students.

One of the most inspiring moments came from Tysheka "Ty" Abraham (photo above), a TCC student whose journey is a testament to the impact of scholarships funded by donors. Thanks to your support, Ty completed her two-year Associate's Degree and will graduate in June with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree.

As a student, she also had the unique opportunity to participate in a week-long Vietnam Study Abroad Program. This was her first time traveling out of the county, where she studied supply chain logistics with a cohort of students. This international experience assisted in advancing her academic goals as well as contributing to her personal growth.

In Ty’s own words – “…this experience was life-changing for both myself and my family. I will be the first in my family to graduate from college, and the belief you’ve shown in me has had a profound impact.”

More students like Ty need your help. Unfortunately, there is still a gap between the needs of TCC students and the support we’ve been able to provide. Your continued support of scholarships, student emergency funding, and the food pantry is essential to helping students like Ty reach their full potential.

We haven’t yet met our fundraising goal, and we ask for your help to continue making dreams a reality. If you haven’t already, please consider making a gift today, by clicking the button below. If you’ve already contributed, THANK YOU! Please consider an additional gift to help us make an even greater impact and support more students.

If you weren’t able to attend, we missed you! There’s more to come this year and we’ll keep you updated—please Save the Date for our 60th Anniversary Celebration on November 8.

On behalf of TCC students and everyone at Tacoma Community College, we are deeply grateful for your support. Together, we are helping students truly Reach Higher.

In gratitude,

Where Education Changes Lives

Since 1967, Tacoma Community College Foundation scholarships have helped students to earn technical certificates or complete two-year associate’s degrees to pursue the remainder of their undergraduate studies at a college or university, advance in their career or succeed in a new career.

Foundation scholarships have impacted the lives of thousands of TCC students, who come from different backgrounds but share one belief – that education can change and improve their lives.

Inspiring Student Success

Our mission is to inspire investment in student success by supporting programs that reduce barriers to education and by funding scholarships that create more equitable access for students of all backgrounds to achieve their dreams.
