International Program Offerings

International Programs offers a one-stop shop for international students coming to the United States to begin their Bachelor's degree, learn English or study abroad! Below are the different programs available to international students:

English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

TCC's EAP Program provides a strong basis in written and spoken English for international students looking to study in the United States. The EAP program offers a wide variety of classes designed not only to improve English language and study skills, but also to prepare students for the U.S. college classroom.

LEVELS AVAILABLE: 5 (Intensive English & Academic Bridge)
DURATION OF EACH LEVEL: 3 months
CLASS SUBJECTS: Grammar, Reading/Writing, Pronunciation and Discussion/American Culture

Early Admission (High School Completion)

High School Completion is a fast-track program where international students can begin their university classes earlier than their peers and receive their High School Diploma from the United States.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be at least 16 years of age (by first day of classes)
• Students are not eligible if they have already graduated from High School in their home country or in the United States

PROGRAM COMPONENTS:

Degree Requirements: All gradutes of Tacoma Community College who have not received a High School Diploma will be awarded their diploma at completion of their Associate's degree. Therefore, High School Completion students must complete all coursework towards their Associate of Arts or Science degree and apply for graduation.

Graduation: Following graduation, the international student will receive their Associate's Degree and their High School Diploma from Tacoma Community College.

Associate Degree

An Associate degree is a two-year degree equivalent to the first two years of a Bachelor's degree. Students may enter the workforce upon completion of their Associate degree or continue their studies at a University. Tacoma offers Associate degrees in the following areas of study:

Upon completion of the two-year Associate degree at Tacoma Community College, students are encouraged to apply to one of our Guaranteed Transfer Partners or for any University of their choosing. Either way, the majority of students will only have two years remaining in their studies to complete a U.S. Bachelor's degree.
