I am very comfortable with students calling me whatever feels right to them. You can call me Professor Johns or you can call me Steve.

One of my favorite LC lectures...
One of my favorite lectures in this learning community is “Communication, Identity and culture”. In this lesson we study about self-presentation, which refers to the process of strategically concealing and/or revealing personal information in order to influence others' perceptions of us. This lesson, in part, allows us to consider how we consider what we reveal.

Our ideal LC student will...
be open to learning new things about themselves, and to explore how all forms of communication—from writing to listening—are areas where you can improve through study and practice.

I love teaching in this LC because...
communication is at the core of everything we do! It’s fun to see how writing and other forms of human communication are connected.

In class, I'm most likely to...
do my best to keep it light-hearted and make you laugh, but still help keep you on track. We can learn and have fun at the same time!
